Falcon Fraud Alerts

Protecting Your Gerber FCU Cards 24/7

Added Protection for Your Debit and Credit Cards

At Gerber FCU, protecting your accounts and your money is a top priority. That's why we partner with Falcon Fraud Alerts, a fraud monitoring service that helps identify potentially suspicious debit and credit card transactions.

If unusual activity is detected on your card, Falcon Fraud Alerts will contact you to verify whether the transaction was authorized. This allows us to respond quickly to potential fraud and help prevent unauthorized card use.

How Falcon Fraud Alerts Work

If suspicious card activity is detected:

Step 1: Text Message Alert

  • A fraud alert text message will be sent to the mobile phone number we have on file for you.
  • Text alerts will come from short code 48704.
  • The message will include basic transaction details and ask you to confirm whether the purchase was authorized.

Step 2: Follow-Up Phone Call

  • If you do not respond to the text message, Falcon Fraud Alerts will call the mobile phone number on file.
  • If you're not reached on your mobile number, a call may be placed to your home phone number.

Keep Your Contact Information Current

To ensure you receive fraud alerts as quickly as possible, please keep your phone numbers up to date with Gerber FCU.

Falcon Fraud Alerts can contact you using the phone numbers listed on your account, including:

  • Mobile phone
  • Home phone
  • Work phone

If your contact information changes, please let us know right away.

What Happens If Fraud Is Suspected?

If you indicate that a transaction is unauthorized, steps may be taken to protect your account immediately.

In some cases, if suspicious activity cannot be verified and we are unable to reach you, your card may be temporarily restricted or blocked until the activity can be confirmed. These measures are designed to help protect your funds from potential fraud.

Can I Opt Out?

Members may opt out of fraud alert notifications through Falcon's automated phone system.

Please note that opting out will stop both text and voice fraud alerts, which may delay notification of potentially fraudulent card activity.

Stay Alert for Scams

Falcon Fraud Alerts may contact you to verify transactions, but they will never ask for:

  • Your full Social Security number
  • Your full account number
  • Digital banking usernames or passwords
  • One-time passcodes (OTP codes)

If anyone requests this information while claiming to be from fraud prevention, do not provide it.
