Gerber FCU Hosts 68th Annual Meeting

FREMONT, Mich. (4/14/18) Mother Nature decided to have a little fun with us for Gerber FCU’s 68th Annual Meeting this year. Instead of Spring flowers on Saturday, April 14th, we woke up to freezing rain and blustery winds.  For the safety of our members and employees, we made the decision to present a shortened program for our 68th Annual Meeting and send everyone home before the weather progressed any further. Despite the weather we had quite a few attend!

Members were greeted by John P. Buckley, Jr, Gerber FCU President/CEO and Luci Moore, Gerber FCU Board Chair. They delivered a brief report on the credit union’s performance in 2017 and held the election for the 2018 Board of Directors before dismissing members and employees to grab a lunch and beverage to take home.

CureUs volunteers setting up for The BreakThrough Tour concert happening later that night at the high school were thankful to use the leftover meals from our meeting.

Gerber FCU Donates Almost 700 Books to Local Second Grade Students

FREMONT, Mich. (4/2/18) John Buckley, President/CEO of Gerber Federal Credit Union (Gerber FCU), read the book The Penny Pot by Stuart J. Murphy to second grade students at local schools during the month of March.  The popular book illustrates a day at the face-painting booth during the school fair and provides plenty of opportunities to count combinations of coins adding up to fifty.

Following the book read, Buckley discussed good money management and presented every student, their teacher and their school library with a copy of the book.  Gerber Federal Credit Union donated a total of 685 books to the following school districts: Big Jackson, Fremont, Fremont Christian, Grant Christian, Grant, Hesperia, Holton, Newaygo and White Cloud.
